Ever since 1937(!!!), EE has been sending its relations a woven Christmas wish every year.
First, this was a calendar, entirely in the style of that year. Think flower-power and the nineties. Since 2000, EE has created a woven artwork every year, in collaboration with a designer or artist. This year, the selected designer is textile designer Kelly Konings.
Kelly Konings explores the relationship between clothes and textiles by literally weaving the two together. This way of working is also known as 3D weaving. EE has already made 3D woven trousers, lab-coat in collaboration with Henrik Vibskov, shirt ism Kelly Konings and a bag for WEEEF.
The name of this year’s artwork is ‘Common Flower Collage’, released in a limited edition of 700 pieces.
The artwork consists of 3 layers woven in 1 piece on the machine. Like the year, the Christmas card folds out. The accompanying message for our relations is inspired by Henri Matisse.
