In 2000, EE Labels / Van Engelen & Evers BV became purveyors to the Royal Court during its 100th anniversary. To crown the start of a new century, EE also became a friend of Design Academy Eindhoven. The contact with students and designers led to special collaborations and projects. There is still a close cooperation between the school and the company. Every year a minor assignment is carried out and several students have their graduation work woven at EE Exclusives.
“The Queen is coming to visit the academy and we would love to have you here.” Well thát was a great invitation in our mailbox. Of course Marloes Evers (fifth generation in the family business) was willing to talk about the special cooperation and long friendship between EE and DAE. Queen Maxima was very interested and asked several questions. Of course, she also immediately referred to the artwork in the Blue Salon.
A few years later, in 2019, EE also literally became a court supplier. In collaboration with Scheltens&Abbenes, the company developed a jacquard woven wall covering for the Blue Salon of Palace Huis Ten Bosch. This is where international guests are received who immediately learn more about the royal couple through the story incorporated in the wall.
Also enthusiastic about the possibilities? Take a look at our online gallery WEEEF. Here you will find woven works of art, plaids and special pillows. All made in Heeze, developed in collaboration with various designers such as Kiki van Eijk, Alissa+Nienke, Mart Veldhuis, Marcos Kueh and Anne-Claire Petit.
